Secretary of Education Tours Lawrence High School Campus 2025
Massachusetts Secretary of Education Patrick Tutwiler made his latest visit to Lawrence High School this week, joined by Mayor Brian A. DePeña, Senator Pavel Payano, and State Representatives Frank Moran and Estella Reyes. They toured campus with Head of School Victor Caraballo-Anderson and Superintendent Carrero, learning about current and upcoming programs and stopping in on an AP biology class.

Light Foundation Selects Four Future Leaders
Congratulations to the four Leonard School students selected to participate in the Light Foundation leadership program! The students signed the REAL (Responsible Ethical Accountable Leader) Pledge as the newest participants in the foundation's youth leadership curriculum, which helps young people develop a growth mindset so they can push through challenges and become motivated, productive and resilient adults.
The selected eighth graders are Jayzell Jusino, Jonathan Medrano, Delvis Hidalgo and Enmanuael Duarte, pictured here from left to right with Matt Light, former New England Patriot, Superbowl champion and foundation founder.

Students in Science Museum Demonstration March 2025
5th grade students from the Guilmette Middle School had the opportunity to be a part of an electricity demonstration at the Museum of Science. Students participated in deeper learning activities that involved all topics of science and discovery.

Winter Cheer 2025
Congratulations to the hard working LHS Varsity Cheer Team who took part in a competitive co-ed meet to finish 4th in the State! Shout out to the whole team:

Class of 2029 Welcome Reception
On Friday, March 7, 2025, Abbott Lawrence Academy hosted its eleventh annual Welcome Reception for the newly admitted students of the Class of 2029. The Welcome Reception was extra special this year as ALA celebrates its tenth anniversary since opening in 2015. This group of students will be the first to experience all four of their high school years at ALA's new home, the North Common Educational Complex, where ALA will be relocating to for the upcoming school year.

2025 MIAA Girls All State Champion Wrestler
Winter Sports are wrapping up for our Lawrence Lancers, with some athletes still in competition. Congratulations to our Lancer Wrestler Hillary MacDonald who earned the title of 2025 MIAA Girls All State Champion again this year. She will continue on to the New England Wrestling competition this weekend. Great work!

Students Recognized at Dominican Independence Ceremony 2025
Ten Lawrence High School students received a special invitation by Senator Pavel Payano, Boston City Councilor Julia Mejia, and Mayor Brian DePeña to attend the Dominican Independence Day Breakfast Awards Celebration held in Dorchester, MA this morning. The students were selected due to their leadership, cultural pride and commitment to community engagement.

35 Student Actors Bring Home National Awards
Congratulations to Lawrence High School Theater, which went to National Performing Arts Festival over February vacation and came home with the hardware! 🏆🥇
In a whirlwind few days, the 35 student actors performed for judges; took acting, music and dance masterclass workshops with Broadway professionals; and had the chance to meet other actors from around the country.
The cast performed a piece from “In the Heights” and 10 members competed in the solo competition. The Lancers were awarded Ensemble Excellence in Choreography, the Judge's Trophy for High Achievement, and the festival’s top honor for highest score – the Showcase Trophy.
Carolina Sanchez and Kiara Felix each won medals for a Superior Rating for the solo competition; and Kevin Reyes, Carolina Sanchez and Kiara Feliz won medals for the Spotlight Awards for Excellence in Performance in the ensemble competition.
Finally on Sunday the cast had the honor of performing on the Lagoon Stage in Universal Studios -- welcome home and well done all!
