Saludos familias, and very happy holidays. I hope you’re all planning a restful vacation and seasonal celebrations with your family and loved ones. As always, here are some reminders and updates as schools close for the break:
• Tomorrow is a full day of school, after which schools have two weeks off. Students and teachers return to school on Monday, January 5.
• Congratulations to all the students and staff who have been part of the countless holiday shows and events taking place throughout the district over the past several weeks. Keep an eye out for highlights and full videos on LPS YouTube and other social media!
• I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the development of our 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, which is available in both English and Spanish on our website along with an outline of our process and work together. As I express in the plan’s introductory letter, I hope you will see this plan as an invitation to play an active part in LPS’ future and success.
• Our next Parent Academy will be Thursday, January 8, 6-7:30pm – I hope you’ll click the link to see details, sign up and join us!
• The winter sports season is here, and the boys and girls of our Lancer wrestling, track, cheer and basketball teams would love to see you at their upcoming competitions (see schedules here). That includes the always popular Christmas Classic regional basketball tournament (tickets available here). Go Lancers!
It has been a terrific first half of the school year in LPS, thanks to all of you and the amazing team we are lucky enough to have in our schools. Please enjoy the holiday season. I can’t wait to get back together on January 5 for a great start to 2026.
